Armed with an accordion and kick drum, Death by Bellows performs shanties, pirate music, medieval ballads, traditional drinking songs, and long forgotten songs of the sea. With a shot of Gogol Bordello, a swig of Tom Waits, a little dash of Jack Sparrow thrown in the mix, Death by Bellows brings the one man band experience to life to captive spectators, raising glasses, dancing, and singing along.

Audiences are invited to shout out the choruses of more well known shanties and Irish drinking songs, and unknown songs are easily picked up. Ivan provides a “SCALLYWAG CHOIR BOOK” with the choruses of the songs to sing along to (like a hymnal book, in ‘zine form). All ages, from little ones to adults, can be entertained by the ramblings of an obnoxious pirate on the deck with an accordion.
